What RenderSmart does
RenderSmart is a free matching service for homeowners. You tell us about your rendering job and your area, and we introduce you to one vetted local rendering specialist who can contact you and provide a quote. We do not carry out rendering work ourselves.
The information we collect
- Enquiry details you give us — your name, email address, telephone number, postcode or address, property type, the render type or issue, your timeframe and budget, and anything else you choose to tell us about the job.
- Trade-partner details — if you apply to join as a rendering specialist, the business and contact details, experience, accreditations and coverage you provide in the application form.
- Technical and usage data — collected automatically, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and how you interact with the site, via cookies and analytics (see our Cookie Policy).
- Correspondence — any messages you send us.
How and why we use your information, and our lawful bases
Under the UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for each use of your personal data. We use your information:
- To match your enquiry and introduce you to one local specialist, and to pass your enquiry details to that specialist so they can contact you and quote. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and, where it applies, your consent.
- To run, secure and improve the website and service, including troubleshooting and preventing misuse. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in providing a reliable, secure service.
- To measure how the site is used through analytics. Lawful basis: your consent (set through cookies).

Who we share your information with
- The one specialist we match you with receives your enquiry details so they can contact you and quote. If there is no available local match for your area, your enquiry may instead be passed to another vetted specialist in our network. Your details are never sold to a list of competing firms.
- Service providers acting on our instructions — for example website hosting and content delivery, lead-management and customer-relationship software, analytics, email, and (for trade partners) payment processing. They may only process your data for us and under contract.
- Advertising and measurement partners — where you consent to advertising cookies, tools such as Google and Meta receive limited data so we can measure and improve our advertising. You can decline or withdraw this at any time (see our Cookie Policy).
- Regulators, authorities or advisers where we are required to share information by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Sending information outside the UK
Some of our service providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Analytics data is retained in line with our analytics provider's settings. Trade-partner application data is kept while the application is active and for a reasonable period thereafter.
How we match you (automated processing)
Our SmartMatch™ process uses information such as your location, the render type and specialist availability to select a suitable local specialist. This is not a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you — you are free to decline the introduction, ask us to match you again, or approach specialists independently.
Marketing
We do not send you marketing messages unless you have asked us to or otherwise consented, and you can opt out at any time by emailing [email protected]. The specialist you are matched with will contact you about your enquiry because you have asked to be matched.
Keeping your information secure
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
Children
This website and service are intended for adults and are not directed at children under 18.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: be informed about how we use your data; access a copy of it; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and, where we rely on consent, to withdraw that consent at any time.
